Areal and ground scan

I'm trying to work on a little something where I'll be doing something like a 3D map of my house and yard, it's a small project. My question is how to merge the areal and terrestrial scans into one?

For a small project like a house and yard, the easiest way I've found to merge aerial and terrestrial scans is to use common targets.
Place reflective checkerboard targets in locations that will be visible to both your terrestrial scanner and your drone, like the corners of the house or the middle of the yard.
Once you have both scans, you can use software like CloudCompare or MeshLab to manually select these matching points.
You'll pick a point in one dataset and find the exact same point in the other.
The software then uses these correspondences to align and merge the point clouds.
It's tedious and a bit manual, but it's very effective for a small project of this scale!

Then you can clean up overlaps and combine the datasets into a single, unified 3D model
