My current project involves working on an aerial LAS with ortho imagery and we were told to colorize it. Would anyone here know which software I can use for this task? Commercial is fine but if it is, could you recommend something that also work for terrestrial data?
 
Yeah, I've done stuff like this before. LP360 and ArcGIS Pro are both good at colorizing LAS files with ortho imagery, whether it's from planes or ground-based stuff. If you're looking for a free option and don't mind getting your hands dirty, CloudCompare works pretty well too.

What's the point density and how big is the project? Knowing that might help figure out which tool is the best fit for you.

  3. TerraScan (by Terrasolid) – A premium solution that's part of the Bentley MicroStation ecosystem. It's robust and ideal for large-scale projects with mixed datasets. TerraScan allows you to overlay ortho imagery and colorize both aerial and terrestrial LiDAR with high accuracy.

If you want to colorize aerial LAS with ortho images, Pix4Dmapper is pretty decent, it works for both aerial and ground data. Agisoft Metashape is another good desktop option , and DroneDeploy is easy if you prefer cloud tools. Which kind of setup are you leaning toward?
 
You can use QGIS or ArcGIS for colorizing both aerial and terrestrial ortho imagery bcos both handle raster data well and offer good visualization tools
