Our team has been using a Velodyne 32 LiDAR on both our vehicle and Matrice 600 Pro, and its been performing pretty well. We just did a demo flight for one of our clients and shared some sample data. Last year we scanned over 500 acres in Leavenworth, Washington and have done several other projects across other states. Aerial LiDAR is definitely right on the money..

yeah, you're not wrong. aerial LiDAR is absolutely 'on the money'
500 acres is wild efficiency! That Velodyne 32 is a fantastic sensor for that scale. Any plans to push into even larger projects?
 
Sounds like a solid setup! How's the data quality been in dense canopy areas? And are you syncing it with any imaging for colorized point clouds?
 
Honestly, aerial LiDAR is crushing it but with setups like the Velodyne 32 and a Matrice 600, it's wild how the barrier now isn't tech performance, it's whether clients can actually keep up with what this gear can deliver.
 
Strong combo right there. great range and point density for large-scale mapping. Curious though, are you running GPS/IMU fusion with post-processing, or sticking to real-time georeferencing?

Thanks! Im using GPS/IMU fusion with post-processing for now to get the best accuracy, but we're exploring realtime georeferencing options for faster results in the field.
