LiDAR data classifications

Alright LiDAR folks, whats your go-to software for automatically classifying UAV LiDAR data? I'm looking to streamline the process and want something solid, accurate and as hands off as possible. There are a bunch of tools out there but I'd love to hear from people actually using them in the field.

If you're using drone LiDAR data, you should definitely check out GeoCue's tools. Their software is designed just for drone tasks and does a great job with point cloud management, processing, and quality checks

Another good option is Atlas Computers' SCC. It's loaded with automation features and has effective workflows for processing LiDAR and survey data. Both are solid picks based on what you need for your projects

TerraScan is still the king but it's pricey and you can be sure it handles UAV LiDAR like a champ, especially for vegetation, ground, and building separation, you can try out global mapper

TerraScan is my best bet but yeah, it's not cheap. For something a bit lighter but still good, I think Global Mapper is worth a shot. Either way, picking software that fits your workflow is key.

oh, I like LAStools by rapidlasso. This is a highly efficient and widely used suite of command line tools.
While it's not a fancy GUI, it's incredibly powerful for batch processing, filtering, and classification.
If you're comfortable with scripting, you can build very automated workflows with LAStools. It's often praised for its speed and memory efficiency
